The Mönchgut Museum Farm, the oldest and largest open
airmuseum on Rügen, consists of a complete rural
farmstead. Some of the buildings were constructed more
than three hundred years ago. Numerous carts, carriages
and horse sleighs, agricultural appliances and tools, as
well as agricultural machines, impressively document the
harsh reality of the working life of the Mönchgut
fisher-farmers and - rural workers.
The topics on show include bee keeping, arable farming
and harvesting, milk processing and butter production as
well as traditional house construction.
A herb garden and a flower garden reinforce the unique
attraction of farm complex. A great rarity on exhibit
here is the hand-operated pressure syringe from the fire
service of Göhren founded in 1900.
